The Trinity
by The Quiet One ini have a question, primarily for trinitarians, but anyone's more than welcome to comment.
what scriptural basis is there for believing in the trinity?
i can understand some having the view that jesus/jehovah both can be worshipped, and the view that jesus should be, but where in the bible is the holy spirit worshipped?

I have a question, primarily for trinitarians, but anyone's more than welcome to comment. What scriptural basis is there for believing in the Trinity? I can understand some having the view that Jesus/Jehovah both can be worshipped, and the view that Jesus should be, but where in the Bible is the Holy Spirit worshipped? The Holy Spirit isn't mentioned in heavenly visions of the Lamb and the One sat on the throne in Revelation, and I just noticed that in Acts, Stephens vision only contained Jesus and Jehovah, not the Holy Spirit. I can't see why anyone believes the Trinity doctrine, but I'd be happy to listen to others views. Thanks in advance :)

Human Sexuality 101: Everything a young girl needs to hear?
by Check_Your_Premises in"body you" is very smart about a few, simple things.
this is how you want it because "body you" is kind of a moron.. fact 2: all living things have two primary desires: to stay alive, and to have offspring.. this is a basic, defining biological fact.
of course "brain you" doesnt think, "i want to talk to that cute boy because i want to procreate", but "body you" is!

Instead of blaming some women for choosing the wrong men, as some poster's seem to have done, here's a different viewpoint: Perhaps 'bad boys' tend to target women with low self-esteem and problems more, they might be seen as easy targets and less of a challenge than a confident woman, rather than women really looking for a 'bad boy'. Being insecure, this kind of person might then take 'anything she can get', (perhaps having not received much attention at the time from a kinder or more timid man) just so she doesn't end up alone, thinking she won't find anyone better.. I've seen this happen in my experience. Abuse often follows. Also, one more thing if I may... Some men might consider the concept of a 'nice guy' to be someone who comes home from work, puts his feet up and expects everything to be taken care of, whether she works or not, without thinking of his gf/wife's needs very much. Some women might not be bored by the stability of being looked after and 'treated well' as some seem to think, but really it could be frustration with a lack of attention or a varied, exciting lifestyle (surprise evenings out etc.). Or maybe they feel suffocated and need more space, hence the backlash. Women aren't a simple equation of House+Food+Money+Sex= she should be happy.. On the other hand, some women seem to have a nearly endless list of requirements and demands that some men can't cope with, and yet some will calmly go from day to day, happy as long as their gf/wife is kept in as content a state as possible (and vice-versa to all of this post before anyone starts accusing me of gender bias). Some can take the heat, others can't. I sincerely hope I haven't offended anyone with what I've said, it's all just suggestions and theories. I upset Blondie (if you're reading this, check your pm's!) before I left for a month with a thoughtless and sexist comment, so I've tried to make this post as free of prejudice as I could. As a born-in, though, gender bias has been imprinted on my brain from birth, so please forgive me if it comes out in any future posts. I don't view women as inferior in any way :)

So what do ya'll think about the recent new light?
by stillin9 inyou know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

[http://www.quickr.org/watchtower_contact_phone_number] How it all works: [http://www.watchtower.org/e/jt/article_07.htm] [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_structure_of_Jehovah%27s_Witnesses] According to watchtower.org, they will not reply to emailed questions, you can only request a home 'bible' study. Hope this helps..

"Rather we should seek for dependent Bible study, rather than for independent Bible study." (Watchtower, Sept 15, 1911, pg. 4885) "Heavy research is not necessary, the watchtower has done it all for you. The most beneficial study you can make is to read the Watchtower and Awake magazines or any new book by the organisation" (Watchtower, June 1, 1967 p338). "Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind." (Watchtower Oct. 1, 1967, p. 587). "[A] mature Christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned. He does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbour private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and "the faithful and discreet slave." (Watchtower, August 1st, 2001, p. 14)
